Your loyalty programme is the engine that keeps customers coming back. Pocketshop lets you reward every purchase, check-in, birthday, and referral with points — all configurable to match your margins and your brand. Customers earn points by scanning receipts in the app, checking in at your location, referring friends, celebrating birthdays, and entering promotion codes. Those points then unlock rewards, coupons, and exclusive perks that you define.

Configuration Parameters

Use the settings below to tune the earning mechanics of your programme. Every parameter is accessible under Loyalty → Programme Settings in your Pocketshop dashboard.
Points limits protect your programme from fraud and budget overruns. Set a daily limit that reflects a realistic single-visit spend, and use the lifetime cap to encourage steady engagement rather than one-off stockpiling.

Example Configuration — Fashion & Cosmetics

The table below shows a balanced configuration for a mid-range fashion or cosmetics retailer. Adapt the values to fit your average transaction size and desired reward cadence.

Promotion Codes

Promotion codes let you award bonus points through offline or social channels — a QR code on a product insert, a caption on an Instagram post, or a poster in your window. When a customer enters a valid code in the app, they receive the associated bonus immediately. Creating a promotion code:
  1. Go to Loyalty → Promotion Codes and select New Code.
  2. Enter a memorable, uppercase code (e.g. SUMMER25 or LAUNCH100).
  3. Set the bonus point value and an optional expiry date.
  4. Restrict usage to one redemption per customer if needed.
  5. Save and distribute the code across your chosen channel.
Print QR codes that deep-link directly to the code entry screen. Customers scan once — no manual typing required.

Setting Up Your Loyalty Programme from Scratch

1

Open Programme Settings

In the Pocketshop dashboard, navigate to Loyalty → Programme Settings. If this is your first setup, the form will be pre-filled with sensible defaults.
2

Define the Earning Ratio

Set Amount per step and Points per step to establish how many points a customer earns per currency unit spent. For example, €1 = 1 point gives you a clear, customer-friendly rule.
3

Set Limits

Enter your Daily points limit, Daily scan limit, and Total points limit. Start conservatively — you can always increase limits after reviewing your first month of data.
4

Configure Bonuses

Fill in your Registration bonus, Check-in points, Birthday bonus, and Referral points for both referrer and referred friend. These bonus categories drive the behaviours — sign-ups, footfall, word-of-mouth — that matter most for SMBs.
5

Set Receipt Validity

Choose how many days after purchase a receipt remains eligible for scanning. Three to seven days covers most customer habits while discouraging old receipt fraud.
6

Activate the Programme

Toggle the programme status to Active and publish. Your customers will see points displayed in the app immediately. Existing accounts receive their registration bonus retroactively only if you enable that option.
7

Create Promotion Codes (Optional)

If you have a launch campaign or seasonal promotion, create your first batch of promotion codes and schedule them alongside any push notifications or social posts.
Connect your loyalty programme to automated campaigns. Set up a push notification that fires when a customer reaches 80 % of the points threshold for your top reward — that well-timed nudge significantly increases redemption rates and repeat visits.
Pair your loyalty programme with Pocketshop’s segmentation tools to personalise the experience. Show different rewards to VIP customers versus newcomers, or run a double-points weekend exclusively for customers who haven’t visited in 30 days.
