Navigation and GPS Check-In
Every location with a complete Address automatically displays a Navigate button in the app, which opens the device’s default maps application. For customers who are new to a location or searching while on the move, this removes all friction from finding you. GPS check-in works through geofencing: when a customer taps Check in on a location detail screen, the app compares their current GPS position to the coordinates you have entered. If they are within the configured check-in radius, check-in succeeds and any associated loyalty reward is granted.Click & Collect
If your business offers Click & Collect, the Pickup times field lets you publish collection windows that are separate from your regular opening hours. Customers placing online orders can see at a glance when they can collect from each location. The Lager / Stock toggle connects this location to your Shop module’s inventory system. When enabled, product availability and stock levels for this location become visible in the app, allowing customers to check whether a specific item is in stock before travelling to collect it. Only enable this flag for locations that are actively managed within the Shop module’s inventory.Audience Filtering
You can restrict individual locations using the same targeting tools available across all Pocketshop content:- Segment targeting — hide a location from general users while keeping it visible to a specific group, such as trade customers with access to a wholesale warehouse or employees who need to see an internal fulfilment depot.
- Client ID targeting — in multi-brand or franchise setups, ensure each brand’s app only shows its own relevant locations rather than the full network.
Adding a New Location
1
Open the Locations module
Navigate to Content → Locations in your Pocketshop dashboard and click New location.
2
Enter the name and upload an image
Give the location a clear, identifiable Name and upload a storefront photo. A recognisable facade image helps customers confirm they have arrived at the right place.
3
Add contact details and address
Enter the Phone, Email, and full Address. The address will be used to generate the Maps navigation link automatically.
4
Add GPS coordinates
Enter the precise Latitude and Longitude for the location entrance. Obtain these from Google Maps by right-clicking the exact entrance point and copying the coordinates.
5
Write a description
Use the Description field to add anything that helps a customer on arrival: parking instructions, which entrance to use, elevator availability, or any notable features.
6
Set opening hours and closed times
Enter the regular Opening hours for each day of the week. Add any known Closed times for public holidays, seasonal closures, or staff training days.
7
Add social media links (optional)
If this location has its own Facebook or Instagram presence, add the profile URLs to give customers a direct path to location-specific content and community.
8
Configure Click & Collect (if applicable)
If this location offers Click & Collect, enter Pickup times and enable the Lager / Stock toggle if the location’s inventory is managed in the Shop module.
9
Apply filtering (optional)
Assign Segment and/or Client ID values if this location should be restricted to specific audiences or apps.
10
Save and verify
Save the location. Open the app and confirm that the listing, navigation link, and contact details all appear and function correctly.
Keep Opening hours and Closed times up to date, including short-notice closures and public holiday variations. Customers who rely on the app for opening information and arrive at a closed location have a poor experience — and incomplete hours are one of the most common causes of avoidable negative feedback. Set a recurring reminder to review and update seasonal hours at the start of each quarter.
