Supported POS Systems
Pocketshop works with any compliant cash register that prints a QR code on the receipt, covering the full range of legally certified POS hardware in Austria and Germany. For businesses that want a tighter, API-level connection, Etron is supported as a direct integration partner.
Etron users benefit from a direct POS integration that goes beyond receipt scanning. Pocketshop communicates with the Etron system at the till level, so loyalty activity is recorded automatically without any customer action beyond normal checkout.
How Receipt Scanning Works
The receipt scan flow is designed to be effortless for your customers and your staff.- The customer completes their purchase as normal and receives a printed receipt.
- They open the Pocketshop app on their phone and tap the Scan Receipt button.
- They point their camera at the QR code printed on the receipt.
- Pocketshop reads and validates the transaction data from the QR code.
- Loyalty points are credited to the customer’s app wallet immediately.
Reward Redemption at the POS
Customers who hold a coupon-type reward in their app wallet can redeem it automatically when your POS system is connected. At checkout, the coupon code is transmitted directly via the POS interface, so the discount is applied at the till without the customer needing to show a screen or read out a code. This frictionless redemption experience increases the rate at which earned rewards are actually used — which in turn strengthens the perceived value of your loyalty programme.Enabling POS Receipt Scanning
1
Open POS settings
In your Pocketshop CRM, navigate to Settings → Integrations → POS Systems.
2
Select your POS type
Choose your country (Austria or Germany) and confirm your POS system. If you use Etron, select it from the direct integration list. Otherwise, select the generic QR receipt option for your country.
3
Configure loyalty point rules
Define how many points customers earn per transaction value — for example, 1 point per €1 spent. Set any minimum transaction thresholds or excluded product categories.
4
Set the receipt validity window
Choose how long a receipt QR code remains scannable after the transaction. This prevents customers from accumulating points on very old receipts while still giving them a reasonable window to scan.
5
Test with a real receipt
Print a receipt from your POS and scan it using the Pocketshop app to confirm that points are credited correctly. Check the customer’s transaction history in the CRM to verify the entry.
6
Brief your staff
Let your team know that customers can scan their receipt QR code in the app to earn points. A simple prompt at checkout — “Don’t forget to scan your receipt in the app!” — can significantly increase participation rates.
The validity period for receipt QR codes is configurable in your loyalty programme settings. Setting a window that is long enough to be convenient (at least 24–48 hours) but short enough to prevent abuse is recommended. Your onboarding specialist can advise on a sensible default for your business type.
